August 13, 2009 Patch (Classless Update)
- The Scotsman's Stove Pipe was added to the game.
September 30, 2010 Patch (Mann-Conomy Update)
- This hat was made paintable.
- Painting for this hat was changed to color only the band instead of the entire hat, which resembles the previous paint scheme of the Ghastly Gibus.
April 14, 2011 Patch (Hatless Update)
- Added styles to the this hat, allowing owners to choose to use the original full-color painted appearance.
- Added a missing material, fixing one of this hat's styles.
Trivia
- Stove pipe hats are commonly classified as top hats with straight sides. The Demoman's top hat appears to have curved sides, which makes it more akin to the "Chimney pot" style of headwear.[1]
