The Big Chief is a community-created headwear item for the Heavy. It is a Native American Template:W with the Team Fortress 2 logo sewn on its sides. Viewing this hat from behind shows that it has a brown backplate.
Although the headdress is shown bundled with the Hibernating Bear set at the Mann Co. Store, it is not required that it be equipped to obtain the item set bonus.
To distinguish itself from the Chieftain's Challenge, the feathers have a different pattern and are much less broad, with sharper tips, along with a different headband that includes feathers hanging off the ends.

Trivia
- In some Native American tribes, feathers were badges that were earned through deeds, whether it be for the good of the community or through battle. Those who had earned enough to make a full headdress were regarded with great honor.
- Conceptual designs featured the addition of war paint to the Heavy's face.
